SCARBOROUGH — It’s a three-day weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, a weekend featuring the return of Car Wars and the American-Canadian Tour.
The Coastal 100 for the ACT Late Models highlights Saturday night’s racing card, which also has all three NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions on tap. Qualifying begins at 7 p.m., and the Pro Series, Sport Series and Wildcats are also on the schedule as they inch closer to the season’s championship finish line. Vermont’s Nick Sweet, a three-time Thunder Road International Speedbowl track champion, leads the ACT standings over Scott Payea and Eddie MacDonald as the ACT season turns the corner for home with the first of two visits to Beech Ridge this season.
Now that the calendar has turned to August, Friday nights heat up with an invasion from a galaxy far, far away. Car Wars is a family-friendly event featuring mayhem, stunts and speed — plus everybody’s favorite: Firefly.
If you want to get a head start on the weekend, the 20th anniversary season of NAPA Thursday Thunder continues this Thursday night at 7 with eight divisions of racing in a compact, affordable program.
