The ground-pounding Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the Beech Ridge 100 this Saturday night, August 3, with a special starting time of 6 p.m. It’s the first Modified race at the track since 2010.
In addition to the VMRS cars hitting the track, all four weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will also be in action as the point battles continue to rage as we head into the home stretch of the season. VIP Thursday Thunder Autograph Hour takes place Thursday, Car Wars opens on Friday, and the Maine Vintage Race Car Association’s “Summerfest” is slated for Sunday as part of a busy week at the track.
Modified standouts Tommy Barrett, Rowan Pennink, Louie Mechalides, Richard Savary and Chris Pasteryak are expected to be part of a deep field of open-wheelers this weekend. Qualifying races begin at 6 p.m. For the first time in series history, heat race points will be awarded to VMRS teams, per a recent series rule change.
Tickets for the Beech Ridge 100 begin at just $20 for adults. For more information on the Valenti Modified Racing Series, be sure to visit the series’ web site at www.modifiedracingseries.com.
