Brandon Ingalls of Falmouth took the lead midway through the 35-lap Sport Series feature Saturday night and then held off a furious challenge from Doug Wolfe over the closing laps to win his first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series feature event of the season.
It was the fourth career Sport Series win for Ingalls, and it was by far the narrowest.
“I’d have to say it definitely is,” said Ingalls, who beat Wolfe to the checkered flag by the length of his front bumper.
Wolfe, meanwhile, held on for second, while Garrett Hall and Dalton Gagnon gave chase.
In the Pro Series main event, Charlie Colby returned to Victory Lane for the first time this season.
Colby was the only repeat winner in the division last season, and he dominated the 40-lap feature for win No. 1 of 2013 to help make up for a rocky start to the summer.
“Hopefully, we can get up to the Top-10 (in the point standings),” Colby said. “Maybe more.”
Justin Karkos won the 30-lap Wildcat feature over Jon Brill and Cole Watson.
