SCARBOROUGH — Berwick, Maine, driver Joey Doiron held off some of the best touring series drivers in the region Saturday night, taking over in the second half of the even to win the PASS Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150. It was Doiron’s first win of the season and his second PASS victory at Beech Ridge.
Doiron beat JR Motorsports Nationwide Series driver Austin Theriault, a native of Fort Kent, and veteran Glen Luce to the checkered flag.
The race only served to spark a busy stretch at Beech Ridge.
This Thursday, July 10, it’s Autograph Night for the Thursday Thunder series — and with no rain in the forecast, the next round of the popular summer series is slated for 7 p.m. On Saturday, July 12, the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series returns to the track with the Pro Series, Sport Series and Wildcats.
And this Sunday, July 13, the second installment of “Day Of Destruction” hits the track at 6 p.m. for all the action-packed carnage fans have come to expect from spectator drags, ramp racing and backwards dashes.
